ghost world (2001)

¿Alguna vez has sentido que sabes lo que no quieres pero no sabes lo que quieres? ¿Has percibido que tu vida va a cambiar pero no sabes en qué sentido? Entonces te sentirás identificad@ con esta película…

A veces todo lo que te rodea te parece una mierda y crees que el mundo que hay ahí fuera está matando tus ilusiones… Ghost World está basada en el comic del mismo título realizado por David Clowes, y cuenta un pasaje de las vidas de Becky y Enid, que han acabado el instituto y tratan de encontrar su lugar en el mundo, o al menos que este no les absorba para siempre y las convierta en figuras vacías, fantasmales… La galería de personajes de la película es impresionante, y es absolutamente imposible no acabar enamorándose de ellos…

Porque a veces la vida, aunque no lo parezca, se limita a esperar el autobús adecuado…

De como el hombre puede ser la bestia más cruel de este mundo… Simplemente, tenéis que verla… No tengo palabras…

pixies – surfer rosa & come on pilgrim (1998)

Los Pixies fueron rock en estado puro… Rabia contenida y gritos enérgicos que rompieron con todo aquello que se les puso por delante… Un grupo atípico… Casi freak… Pero capaz de crear canciones que no dejan indiferente… De provocar una fascinación enfermiza por su música si llegan a calar en ti… La verdad es que cualquiera de sus discos es perfectamente recomendable, y describir sus canciones es una tarea imposible, debéis escucharlas…

Recuerdo haber leído en algún lugar cuando apareció Nirvana con su Nevermind que esas canciones eran sólo caras B propias de los Pixies, y el mismísimo David Bowie ha versionado Cactus en su último disco Heathen… Son halagos para acabar convenciendo a cualquier indeciso… ¿No creéis? :)

A.I. inteligencia artificial (2001)

David tiene un sueño… Quiere ser un niño normal… Pero claro está, la película no tendría sentido si no hubiera algo que lo impidiera… Y en esta ocasión el inconveniente es que David es un robot… Millones de circuitos inteligentes recorren su cuerpo, el del primer robot capaz de sentir afecto por las personas… Pero David no se rinde y emprende su odisea a través de un mundo en el que sobrevivir es demasiado difícil para encontrar al Hada Azul, la única capaz de convertir su sueño en realidad… Un cuento de hadas del siglo XXI que dejó escrita Stanley Kubrick y que fallecido éste, concluyó en la gran pantalla su amigo Steven Spielberg… Ese es el argumento de esta maravillosa película… Una de las mejores que he visto últimamente…

Un robot que sueña con ser un niño… ¿Acaso no os recuerda en algo a la odisea que se relata en Pinocho? :) Claro que los tiempos cambian, y en lugar de tener a Pepito Grillo como compañero, la conciencia de David es un oso de peluche cibernético que haría las delicias de cualquiera de nosotros…

tigre y dragón (2000)

Las películas orientales siempre me han gustado… Recuerdo que de pequeño acabamos con todas las existencias de películas de Bruce Lee del videoclub… Bueno, teneis razón, no es ese tipo de películas a las que me refería… :) No sólo me gustan porque tienen un colorido distinto al de otro tipo de cine (europeo o americano principalmente), sino porque sus relatos suelen ser muy originales.

Esta película no es una excepción… A través de las andanzas de una espada (por cierto, es curioso ver que ésta se dobla como si fuera de hojalata con un simple golpeo con los dedos y en cambio es capaz de acabar con cualquier espada rival que se presente), se nos cuenta una historia que tiene como eje central el amor y el respeto a las tradiciones. Todo ello en una historia al más puro estilo de las películas de aventuras, con semi-bruja incluida, y con un final de aquellos que te dejan con la boca abierta… :)

Sin duda, esta película será recordada por las espectaculares escenas de combates, en las que los luchadores vuelan literalmente y realizan ascensiones por muros verticales como si nada… Es una lástima que no podamos hacer ese tipo de cosas en la vida real… Aunque siempre nos quedarán los sueños… :)
